Liquid Heater

+

What It Is

A PTC ceramic element built into a mount designed for direct or indirect contact with a liquid — water, coolant, oil or another process fluid. The mounting style (flow-through, immersion, bottom-mounted, pipe-jacket) determines how the element meets the fluid.

Product Uses

  • Water heaters and dispensers
  • EV / battery coolant preheating
  • Industrial process fluid heating
  • Beverage and appliance heating tanks

How to Customize

  • Target temperature and voltage
  • Wattage / heating speed
  • Wetted material (for direct-contact types)
  • Fitting, thread or connector spec

Air Heater

+

What It Is

Stacked PTC ceramic elements with metal fins that heat moving or still air. Forced-air types pair with a fan for fast, directional output; convection types rely on natural airflow for quieter, passive heating.

Product Uses

  • HVAC and cabin heating
  • Defrost / defog systems
  • Dryers and industrial air curtains
  • Enclosure and cabinet heating

How to Customize

  • Forced-air vs convection airflow
  • Fin spacing and stack size
  • Voltage and wattage density
  • Frame / housing material

Cased Heater

+

What It Is

A PTC ceramic element sealed inside a rigid housing — ceramic, plastic, aluminum, or resin-encapsulated — for direct surface-contact heating or embedding into a larger assembly. The housing material is the main engineering trade-off (isolation, cost, heat spreading, sealing).

Product Uses

  • Seat and surface heaters
  • Appliance heating plates
  • Industrial equipment surface heating
  • Small appliance heating cores

How to Customize

  • Housing material
  • Shape and dimensions
  • Lead wire type and length
  • Mounting holes / bracket points

Insulated Heater

+

What It Is

A thin, flexible PTC element wrapped in an insulating film, built to conform to curved or non-flat surfaces where a rigid cased heater’s fixed geometry won’t fit.

Product Uses

  • Pipe and tube heating wraps
  • Flexible seat / cushion heating
  • Wearable heating panels
  • Anti-freeze tubing wraps

How to Customize

  • Shape, length and width
  • Insulation film material
  • Lead wire exit position
  • Adhesive backing option

Heating Chip

+

What It Is

The bare PTC ceramic chip with just a lead-wire configuration — no housing. Used when your own product’s enclosure provides mechanical protection and you only need the raw heating element to embed.

Product Uses

  • Compact consumer electronics
  • Small appliance heating cores
  • Sensor / actuator assemblies
  • OEM sub-component integration

How to Customize

  • Lead wire configuration (side-edge / single-surface / dual-surface)
  • Chip shape and size
  • Resistance value
  • Electrode coating
FAQ

Common questions.

Can PTC heaters be customized to a specific target temperature?+
Yes — the stable temperature a PTC element settles at is set by the ceramic formulation (the Curie point), not by an external controller. Tell us your target temperature and voltage and we’ll propose a starting formulation.
What certifications do your products carry?+
ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems, with products available compliant to UL, CE, RoHS and CQC depending on the product line. Full certificate copies are available on request.
Do you offer OEM/ODM services?+
Yes. We work directly with OEM and ODM buyers from initial spec through sampling and mass production — no trading-company layer in between.
What’s the minimum order quantity?+
Minimum order quantity is 1,000 pieces for mass production, and may vary slightly by product line and customization level. Samples are available in small quantities below MOQ to validate fit before committing to a production order.
How long does sampling take?+
Typically 7–15 business days for samples matching an existing formulation, or 15–20 business days if a new ceramic formulation needs to be developed for your target temperature. Mass production lead time after sample approval is generally 30–45 days, depending on order volume. We’ll confirm an exact timeline once we’ve reviewed your requirements.
What’s the difference between a Heating Chip and a Cased Heater?+
A Heating Chip is the bare PTC ceramic element with just lead wires — no housing. A Cased Heater is the same type of element sealed inside a rigid housing (ceramic, plastic, aluminum or resin). Choose a chip if your own enclosure provides protection; choose a cased heater if you need a self-contained, ready-to-mount part.
Can I get free samples?+
Yes — send your product requirements (medium being heated, target temperature, voltage, mounting constraints) to sales@ptcworks.com and we’ll follow up with sample availability.
