The goal inside a sealed outdoor enclosure usually isn’t to make it warm — it’s to keep the internal temperature just far enough above the dew point that condensation and frost can’t form on sensitive components.
Why convection PTC heating fits this problem
Outdoor telecom cabinets, control boxes, and sensor housings need a small, quiet, low-power heat source that holds a stable internal temperature without a fan (which would draw in outside moisture) or a bulky control system. A convection-type PTC element does this passively — no moving parts, no external control loop, and a self-limiting temperature ceiling that won’t overheat sealed electronics nearby.
