How PTC pipe-jacket heating works
A pipe-jacket PTC element wraps around the outside of an existing pipe — no modification to the plumbing itself — holding the pipe wall above freezing. Because the element self-limits, it can be left running continuously through winter without a separate thermostat or risk of overheating the pipe.
